Important Announcement regarding GMAC Patreon
We are ending our Patreon. Check out our new Substack (here!), or our Instagram and Twitter for new funds and updates.
Dear Gaza Mutual Aid patrons and supporters,
Gaza Mutual Aid Collective (GMAC) is eternally thankful for your generous support for our Patreon since January 2nd, 2022. In the last 16 months, we've been able to provide material support for hundreds of families in Gaza.
Like other corporate, monetizable platforms, Patreon subjects its users to Patreon fees, processing fees, currency conversion fees, and more. This has siphoned approximately 35% of donations made via Patreon.
This is unsustainable, and it is unfair to both recipients in Gaza and donors. Here's a visualized breakdown.

After much reflection and discussion, and to ultimately enhance our ability to efficiently provide direct aid to our siblings in Gaza, GMAC has decided to suspend donations via Patreon for the foreseeable future starting April 30th, 2023. We understand that this decision may be inconvenient for some of our supporters who relied on the subscription to ensure recurring donations to GMAC funds. We have faith that the work and support fostered through GMAC's Patreon can extend beyond convenience, as this change is necessary to ensure as much of your donations as possible effectively reaches the hands of those who need it.
Before we suspend our Patreon, we kindly ask you to redirect your generous support to our newly-created Substack, which will serve as a platform for long-form updates on our fundraisers and an archive of our past fundraisers. As always, we will continue to use Instagram and Twitter for all updates. Ultimately, we remain committed to the principles and goals we intend to accomplish through this grassroots effort.
We thank you for understanding this decision. As a grassroots collective, GMAC is only able to accomplish its goals with your generous support and solidarity.
In struggle and solidarity,
Gaza Mutual Aid Collective.
Please help via the link for my family’s donation campaign. The conditions are very dangerous in Gaza.
